Custom Order Process:
Initiating the Commission:
When someone reaches out through DMs or submits a commission request on my website, I personally follow up to learn more about their unique vision, preferences, and specific needs.
Understanding Preferences:
I ask about your preferred artistic medium (like acrylic or digital), the size you're looking for, your color scheme, theme ideas, and any other details you’d like included. Reference photos are always welcome — they help me better understand your vision! For realistic pieces, I stick closely to your photos for the subject, but I’ll customize things like the background, colors, and other elements to match your style and preferences.
Determine Price and Timeline:
All of these details help determine the final price and timeline for your custom piece. Once I have a clear understanding of your preferences, I’ll provide a personalized quote. You can also check the price ranges listed below, organized by art category, to get an idea of what to expect.
Payment and Commencement:
Once we’ve agreed on the details and pricing for your custom artwork, we’ll both sign a simple contract to confirm everything. I require a 50% deposit upfront to get started. As soon as that first payment is made, I’ll begin working on your piece!
Throughout the process, I’ll keep you updated regularly and check in if I need any extra details to make sure the final piece meets your vision. Once the artwork is complete, I’ll calculate shipping costs and request the remaining shipping payment. The final 50% of the artwork cost is due before your piece is shipped out.
Finalizing the Artwork:
As your artwork nears completion, I’ll send you a final version for review. You’re welcome to share feedback and request any reasonable adjustments — I’ll make those changes at no extra cost to ensure you’re completely happy with the result. Once you’ve approved the final piece, the remaining 50% payment will be due.
Delivery Process:
Once I receive the final 50% payment, I’ll get your artwork ready for delivery. For digital pieces, I’ll send the final file to your email. For physical artworks (like canvases or prints), I’ll calculate the shipping cost and request payment for that separately. As soon as the final payment and shipping fee are complete, I’ll ship your piece and provide a tracking number. If you're local to me, here in Minnesota, we can also arrange a pickup or meetup to skip the shipping cost!
